5. Baking Tip: Definitely the 1 tip I have was passed down from my mother. Always crack your eggs into a saucer first before adding to your cake batter because 1 bad egg can ruin the entire batter!

How I made the Madeleines

I have made Rose Water Madeleines. The recipe I used is as follows:


Rose water Madeleines:


100g castor sugar

half tsp rose water

125g flour, 1t BP

115g butter, melted


Preheat oven to 180 . In a large bowl place the eggs, sugar and rose water , beat for 5 mins until mixture is light and thick. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to egg mixture and beat, then add melted butter and continue to beat until the mixture is combined.

Spoon mixture into Prepared Madeleine tin and bake for 15-18mins. Remove and allow to cool.



100g icing sugar sifted

1T water

1tsp rose water.

In a small bowl add the icing sugar, stir in the water and whisk until well combined. Drizzle with icing.
