Stuarts Field Guide to National Parks & Game Reserves: Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi – Chris & Mathilde Stuart

This is really a bucket list book. Buy a landcruiser and drive through Southern Africa. Why a landcruiser and not landrover, well toyota parts maybe easier to find in the bundus. Travel to Nambia and see the Skeleton coast and long long walks on a desert beach. Deserted and desert beach. Drive to Chobe National Park in Botswana. My top bucket list item – visit victoria falls. I have seen Lake Malawi and it seemed like I was at a beach. If anyone loves nature and wants a to do list to help them decide, the Stuarts have written a great guide. You are given some great of the beaten track tips. Each section of the country gives you some info about the country. List of national parks and reserves to visit. You get a map and pictures of wildlife. Highlights. Facilities and activities, Geology and landscape, Climate, vegetation, wildlife facts, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians. Nicely written in a very summarised way straight and to the point. A good visual identification guide at the back of the different fauna and flora.

So you feel like packing up and just going on a road trip for months like the Stuarts then you wonder where is the loo ??? When we visited the Serengethi the long drop was quite and experience especially if you thing there could be a lion in the midst.

About the book: The first guide ever to document and explore the diverse parks and reserves of Africa’s ‘middle belt’, it covers Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. The region contains prized spots such as the world-famous landscapes of the Namib and Kalahari deserts, Okavango Delta, Victoria Falls and Lake Malawi, and some of Africa’s best-known conservation areas, including Etosha, Chobe, Mana Pools, Hwange, Kafue and Nyika. Written by two prominent conservationists, the book is organised by country, and includes:• Detailed descriptions of the history, geology, climate, vegetation and wildlife of some 50 conservation areas.• Annotated park maps, indicating places of interest and best sites to view key species.• Text panels featuring each park’s highlights, facilities and activities, wildlife facts, and important alerts.• A concise photographic gallery of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and trees, for quick identification of commonly seen species. A must-have guide to the parks and reserves of a region renowned for spectacular landscapes, fauna and flora
