Muttoncurry and dumplings

Mutton Curry :

Braise 2 onions ( finely sliced)in oil till gold.

Add 2tsp ginger garlic paste, 1tsp chilli pwd, 2 tsp dhana jeero, 1/2 tsp tumeric, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 elachie cracked open slightly and 1 tsp salt,

Add meat and braise till water burnt out.

Add additional water till meat is soft.

Add 3 liquidised tomatoes and potato ( quarterered) .

When potaoes are done,

add 1/2 tsp garum masala and chopped green dhania leaves

gravy should have enough water when making dumplings.

Recipe for dumplings

2 cups flour
3-4 TAB butter
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk (approx)

Sift dry ingredients. Rub in butter till it resembles fine bread crumbs. Add milk and mix lightly with a forkĀ  till a soft dough forms. Roll into small balls. Place over any gravy curry. Cover pot and steam for 15 – 20 minutes.
