About Lockdown Lesson

Many of us NPOs are doing amazing work but we are struggling with our book keeping, accounting. I must confess, I do my bread pledge tracking with pencil and paper. I am not organised at all with my accounting.
We don’t know how to maximise our donations with section 18s. What are PBOs, DSDs, CIPCs etc?

As I am a section 18 Public Benefit Organisation last year I was looking for a specialised NPO accountant and found Turning Point Chartered Accountant. My financial statements are up to date and SARS stuff all sorted so I can relax and breathe. Currently busy with last financial year end stuff. I started using FNB instant accounting as well to better allocate my transactions but eish!, it is tedious and needs discipline. I am still not confident that I am maximising my NPO and thought we need to have some Lockdown Lessons on the Basic of NPO accounting.

  • Are you NPO and the book keeping and accounting is making you deurmekaar and your head spin?
  • You doing amazing work but you are running around like a headless chicken to account for everything?
  • You can’t make head or tail of what PBO, Section 18, CIPC, SARS, and all these altruistic acronyms.
  • Are you using your section 18 certificates and maximising donors donations for them?
  • Uncertain regarding COVID 19 implications on your NPO
