When you touch the cover, it feels like you are touching a hippo. This book is for older children maybe gr 2 level after they have learnt to read simple books. As a bird enthusiast it was nice to see how the birds were illustrated in the book. Hannah the hippo and her friend Ollie the Oxpecker found a chick who was washed down the river in a flood. Hannah and Ollie try to find it’s nest. The go to all the different birds along the river. It is a great way to teach smallies the different birds. Plovers, Guinea fowls, Egyptian geese etc. Join Hannah and Ollie try to get this little chick back to her parents.
