butter chicken

Ingredients

1 chicken disjointed or 1kg fillet if you prefer cut in cubes or strips

1 cup yoghurt

1 cup fresh ceram

250g optional

2 teaspoon chilli powder

2 teaspoon crushed red chillies

2 teaspoon Dhana jeeru/ coriander cumin mix

2 teaspoon salt

half teaspoon turmeric

1 tablespoon ginger garlic

1 onion sliced

half cup tomato paste/puree

Method

1. Marinate overnight spices, yoghurt, tomato paste and smear over chicken.

2. Heat the butter/olive oil or whatever oil you use for cooking your onions. I don’t usually use the butter as I have pre fried onions. But if you looking for authentic butter chicken maybe it is a good idea to add the butter.

3. Saute onions until light brown

4. Add marinated chicken

5. When chicken is almost done, add the fresh cream and cook for five minutes

serve with rice, roti or rogni naan.
