Rotla Recipe

Attempted to make Rotla. Must admit found it much easier to make then normal roti even though I used a spoon instead of rolling pin. Also the first batch was trial run. Some looked like folded pancake. Managed to get the second lot much better.

Rotla

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup mealie meal
  • half cup oil
  • water
Method
  1. Add all ingredients together in a bowel. Put enough water so it is like soft dough
  2. let it stand for about 10-15 minutes
  3. Roll Roti  or drop spoonfuls on tawa and spread it.
  4. Fry on high heat
  5. Put ghee or oil or in my case i used the spray Olive oil
  6. turn and fry until those brown patches come on.
Serve with Kaata Piyaaj
