Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon – To Allah we belong and to Allah is our return. It is a sad day for the ummah. A great scholar of Tasawuf and servant of Allah has passed away today. Moulana Yunus Patel has suffered heart attack in haram of Makkah mukaramah after performing tawaaf and maghrib salaah. Moulana Yunus Patel passed away in the haram of Makkah Tuesday, 12 July 2011. 11 Shabaan 1432 South Africa and 12 Shabaan 1432 in Makkah. A death of such a great personality in such a blessed mubarak place. It was always his wish to pass away in Medina or Makkah.

Hz Moulana Yunus Patel RA was buried in Mualla early this morning. A massive crowd headed for the historic graveyard, which houses the graves of amongst others Sayyiditina Khadija RA, after Fajr. Janazah Salaah was performed in the Haram by Sheikh Shuraim and Moulana’s final resting place is block number 44 grave number 66 in Mualla. A young baby was buried with Moulana Yunus Patel.

Ghusl is soon to be performed by the Al Muhajireen Burial Agency and Janazah is scheduled to occur after Fajr in the Haram Insha Allah

Makkah Maghrib (Surah Az Zumar 41 -46) Sheikh Ghazzawi
meaning of these ayah – 41. Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for [instructing] mankind. He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.
42. It is Allah that takes the souls [of men] at death; and those that die not [He takes] during their sleep: those on whom He has passed the decree of death, He keeps back [from returning to life], but the rest He sends [to their bodies] for a term appointed verily in this are Signs for those who reflect.
43. What! Do they take for intercessors others besides Allah? Say: “Even if they have no power whatever and no intelligence?”
44. Say: “To Allah belongs exclusively [the right to grant] intercession: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: In the End, it is to Him that ye shall be brought back.”

- walked back down in mataaf by hateem and
- speaking normal, answering question.
- sat down, gave water,
- after maghrib collapsed on mataaf near hateem while making dua
- tried to revive in first aid room of haram but pulse was light.
- shortly after that passed away around 19h50 Saudi time

How sahabah reacted to the Prophet(SAW) death
We must reflect on the death of the prophet(SAW). When he passed away Umar(RA) would not believe it and said he would kill anyone that said the prophet (SAW) passed away.
Narrated Abu Salama from Ibn `Abbas : Abu Bakr came out and `Umar , was addressing the people, and Abu Bakr told him to sit down but `Umar refused. Abu Bakr again told him to sit down but `Umar again refused. Then Abu Bakr recited the Tashah-hud (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle) and the people attended to Abu Bakr and left `Umar. Abu Bakr said, “Amma ba’du, whoever amongst you worshipped Muhammad, then Muhammad is dead, but whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and will never die. Allah said: ‘Muhammad is no more than an Apostle and indeed (many) Apostles have passed away before him ..(up to the) grateful.’ ” (3.144) (The narrator added, “By Allah, it was as if the people never knew that Allah had revealed this verse before till Abu Bakr recited it and then whoever heard it, started reciting it.”)
5.Quran 3:144 “ Muhammad is no more than an Apostle: many were the Apostles that passed away before him. If he died or were slain will ye then turn back on your heels?”
Virtues of passing away in Makkah or Madinah
Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said,
“One who intentionally visits me [in his life] will be beside me on the Day of Judgment, and one who settles in Madinah and bears with its trials, I will be a witness, or intercede, for him on the Day of Judgment, and one who dies in one of the two Holy Sanctuaries (Makkah or Madina), Allah will resurrect him amongst those granted safety on the Day of Judgment.” [al-Bayhaqi, Shu’ab al-Iman]

Talbina – Sunnah cure for grief
For everyone grieving and especially for the family make some talbina –
Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) used to recommend Talbina for the sick and for one who is grieving over a dead person. She (may Allaah be pleased with her) used to say, “I heard the Messenger (Sallallaahu ءlayhi Wasallam) saying, ‘The Talbina gives rest to the heart of the patient and makes it active and relieves some of his sorrow and grief.’ ” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5689)]
Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) said that whenever one of her relatives died, the women assembled and then dispersed (returned to their homes) except her relatives and close friends. She (may Allaah be pleased with her) would order that a pot of Talbina be cooked. Then Tharid (a dish prepared from meat and bread) would be prepared and the Talbina would be poured on it. Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) would say (to the women), “Eat of it, for I heard the Messenger (Sallallaahu ءlayhi Wasallam) saying, ‘The Talbina soothes the heart of the patient and relieves him from some of his sadness.’ ” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5690)].
