Petrol price – South Africa

There is a hoax email going around that if we boycott international companies this will bring them down to their knees and reduce the petrol price. I wonder if that would work. I find it strange that although we make petrol in this country why are we paying an arm and a leg for petrol. What can be done so we don’t get killed with these price increases?
