1kg deshelled, clean prawns – wash and drain it – since this is an experiment don’t use your expensive prawns

marinate mixture

Fry 2 sliced onions

1 tsp ginger

2 tsp coarse or fine chillies

2 tsp salt

half tsp arad/bori

1 tablespoon dry fine coriander

1 tablespoon either whole or ground cumin jeero

1 tomato

half cup lemon juice

pinch of egg yellow or pinch of saffron(soaked in boil water)

In a food processor or however you do it magimix all the ingredients in the marinate mixture

Take marinate mixture and mix with prawns – marinate for few hours

Boil 2 cups pasta in water with salt as needed – drain water

boil 2 cups rice with 2 tsp salt

Get a pot and grease it with butter or oil

put marinated prawns at the bottom of the pot

place the pasta

then place the rice

put half cup water and throw around the rice

steam on 180 degrees

check after half an hour with a spoon (similar how you check a cake) see if the prawn mixture is almost dried out but still moist.

serve with dhai, crushed lays and crushed pappar.
