Sumayya Adam Got from either this page or cooking up a storm, got few more, will post n u can decide which u wana use
Slice onions into fine rings (approx. R medium sized)
Make a batter with:
1/2 - 1 Cup Flour
1/2 tsp Bicarb
Salt & Pepper to taste
Dip onion rings into flour mix, then beaten eggs with lil soda water (to make crispy) & lastly breadcrumbs. Fry & enjoy.
* Tip - I put the flour mix into a clear freezer bag then add the onions rings into the bag & shake the contents well. I find that the onions get coated much better & faster instead of doing them individually
Onion Rings:
3 large red onions or any other sweet onions
1/2 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 cup milk
cooking oil for deep frying
Preparation:
Wash and peel onions, cut into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Separate rounds into rings. In a bowl, combine flour, seasonings, and baking powder. In a measuring cup, whisk together egg and milk. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients, blending well. Dip onion rings into batter, then put into hot oil. Fry until golden brown, turning to brown both sides. Remove to paper towels to drain thoroughly. Sprinkle with a little salt before serving....

Ayesha Chopdat Ws, I have a rly nyc tried n tested recipe :
1 large onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup milk, or as needed
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
seasoned salt to taste
1 quart oil for frying, or as needed
Directions
Heat the oil in a deep-fryer to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).
Separate the onion slices into rings, and set aside. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Dip the onion slices into the flour mixture until they are all coated; set aside. Whisk the egg and milk into the flour mixture using a fork. Dip the floured rings into the batter to coat, then place on a wire rack to drain until the batter stops dripping. The wire rack may be placed over a sheet of aluminum foil for easier clean up. Spread the bread crumbs out on a plate or shallow dish. Place rings one at a time into the crumbs, and scoop the crumbs up over the ring to coat. Give it a hard tap as you remove it from the crumbs. The coating should cling very well. Repeat with remaining rings.
Deep fry the rings a few at a time for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove to paper towels to drain. Season with seasoning salt, and serve.

Sumayya Adam 2 medium white onions
1 -2 cup milk
1 -2 cup all-purpose flour
1 -2 cup Plain Bread Crumbs
oil, to deep fry
salt Heat up your shortening or oil to 350 degrees.
Cut onions into 1/4 inch thick slices, then separate the slices into rings. (I leave 2 rings together for a thicker onion ring).
Pour the milk, flour and breadcrumbs in three separate bowls. (To make it easy, I mix the flour and milk together, and it seems to stick better as well. If the flour/milk mixture is too thick, add a little more milk to make it the right consistency for dipping).
Now bread all of the onion rings: First dip an onion into the milk, then into the flour. Dip it back into the milk, then into the breadcrumbs; and once more into the milk and into the breadcrumbs. (Or, if you mix the flour and milk like I do, dip in flour/milk mixture, then breadcrumbs, and repeat once or twice more). This gives each onion ring a nice thick breading.
Fry a handful of the rings at a time for 1 1/2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove rings from the oil to a rack or paper towels to drain. Lightly salt them and serve them up right away.
