Natasha Sass Basmati rice is best. Add condensed milk, coconut milk and tin cream to the kheer for that creamy taste. Nazriena mail me at natasha.sass@gmail.com and I'll tell you how I make it. I'm hopeless with "recipes" though - just make it as I recall how my Mom taught me. But hopefully it will make sense ;)

Soomaiyah Saloojee Olla ‎1/2 cup white rice (boil until mushy), process in mini food processor. Add to 2l pre-boiled milk, continue to simmer in a non-stick pot until thickish. Add 1 tin beaten nestle cream (big tin if you want it creamier), 1/2tsp ground elachie, 1-2 tbsp rose water, slivered almond (min 2 tbsp), 1 tbsp dessicated coconut. Lastly add 1 tin condensed milk (be careful now, kheer can scorch easily at this point) - add more sugar as required to taste.
