NANIMA'S PANCHAAT

A NEW EARTH:

Oprah Winfrey, Ows(Oprah Winfrey Show), has gone gaga over the New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. A few months ago they had web classes, millions attended the webcasts. This week the new earth summer school has began. In South Africa the shows are only introducing the book and webclasses now. You can download the past new earth web classes here and register for summer school here. You can't get one New Earth book anywhere in South Africa. The other issue is Amazon decided not to deliver to South Africa due to the unreliable postal service. You are now at a cross roads and desperately looking for enlightenment and how to find joy in your life and go beyond the ego/nafs. Your prayers have been answered. Sadatullah Khan will be in South Africa, back by popular demand in July. I am reading the new earth and I have attended the course. As we are from the era of instant gratification if you want a quick fix to your spiritual conundrums and don't like to read, the discover yourself course is your solution. After three days you will feel at peace with yourself, anger will disappear and you will let go of the past. Although the methods thought in the course are so obvious and simple, the true test begins once you back home and practise what you thought you were taught. If you don't believe me listen to what others who have attended the course had to say about it. Watch videos and discover yourself calendar

NANIMA'S WISE WORDS

"Anything that you resent and strongly react to in another is also in you." Eckhart Tolle A new earth "The underlying emotion that governs all the activity of the ego is fear. The fear of being nobody, the fear of nonexistence, the fear of death. All its activities are ultimately designed to eliminate this fear, but the most the ego can ever do is to cover it up temporarily with an intimate relationship, a new possession, or winning this or that. Illusion will never satisfy you. Only the truth of who you are, if realized, will set you free" Eckhart Tolle A new earth

NANIMA'S REMEDY

Awakening Exercise for Chapter 1:Free Yourself from Your Mind Adapted from Practicing the Power of Now: Essential Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises from The Power of Now (p. 21-22)
Be present in everyday activities.
Choose one or two activities you do routinely and bring your attention to them. Here are three examples.
* Every time you walk up and down the stairs in your house or place of work, pay close attention to every step, every movement even your breathing. Be totally present.
* When you wash your hands, pay attention to all the sensory perceptions associated with the activity: the sound and feel of the water, the movement of your hands, the scent of the soap and so on.
* When you get into your car, after you close the door, pause for a few seconds and observe the flow of your breath. Become aware of a silent but powerful sense of presence.

MADALA'S GREEN FINGERS

Japanese Zen Garden

There are many aspects of traditional Japanese gardens and tea gardens that add to their beauty. Though you might not be able to incorporate all of them into your garden design, this quick overview will give you a good idea of what a Japanese garden is all about:
* Borrowed landscape: Japanese gardens often use the landscape surrounding the garden as a feature of the garden itself. For example, a mountain in the distance might be framed by an archway in the garden.
* Water: Water is a very important aspect of Japanese garden design. You'll usually see ponds, streams or waterfalls in traditional Japanese gardens. Waterfalls in particular are a popular feature, but the look of a waterfall without water can be created with rocks.
* Bridges: When using all that water, especially if there's an island in the pond (another popular feature of Zen gardens), you're going to need a bridge. Slabs of stone can be used for this. A Chinese arched "full moon bridge" is also commonly used.
* Stone lanterns: Often placed beside a path or near a water feature, stone lanterns are a very common addition to Japanese garden design.
* Stones: Strategically placed rocks and stones are used as design features in the garden. Stones are often positioned so they are jutting out of the water or in a raked sand garden.
* Sand: The raked sand garden is probably what most people think of when they think of a Japanese Zen garden. These structures are popular in Shinto shrines, where they are said to make a place more hospitable for spirits. Depending on how the sand is raked, it can look like flowing water or simple straight lines.
* Paths: A typical Japanese garden is designed for strolling. The paths are meandering, but that does not mean they are haphazard. Paths are seldom straight and often curve around other features in the garden and direct the visitor to take time and view the surroundings with care.
Given all of the elements that are typically included in a Japanese garden, you may be tempted to cram everything into your space, even if it's very small. That is not a good idea. Japanese gardens tend to have empty space; they're not crammed to overflowing with plants and rocks and other features
